Be You Not Different

Be You Not Different

I'm going to be different
I wanna look strange
That oughta teach'm
To mess with my brains
I'll pierce this
And change that
Dye my hair
And wear a hat
I'll get some boots
Just like those
The new Doc-Martens
With steeled toes
My pants'll be baggy
And I'll smoke some pot
I'll drop a few hits
Hope not to get caught
So what if I do
I'm different now
"You can't do nuthin"
I won't change anyhow
I'll stack up the bills
Won't pay my debt
But I really don't care
You just don't get it
I'm living the life
Now I'm free
I don't need you
Don't worry-bout me
Yeah look at me
I got a tattoo
That's bolder than anything
You'd ever do

Look at you now
What do you have?
You sure are different
But you sure look sad
Different from what?
I can tell from me
But not all the others
Who live so carefree
As a matter of fact
You all look the same
Was that what you wanted
When you joined the game?
This has gotten you nowhere
And pretty damn fast
With no education
You dropped out of class
Now that you're "different"
What will you do?
How will you live?
Where will you get food?
To me it seems
You're just like the rest
And a little conformity
Just might be best
So stop being different
Let's try something else
Get rid of that crap
And just be yourself
